TESTIMONIALS

“After just a few sessions, I am sleeping better, I have more time for people close to me, and I feel more like myself than I have in a long time – thank you Judy. I am looking forward to the next one to see where it takes us!”

“I was amazed how revealing the session was. It made me so grateful for what I can do, rather than brooding on what I can no longer do. I got an amazing feeling of calmness”

“During the week following the session, I felt very positive and lots of things seemed to fit into place”

‘I felt very supported and held. I felt safe enough to hear what my body wanted to tell me – this work is so insightful and interesting”

“you created space and time for me to listen – I went deep inside and what unfolded was surprising and empowering. Thank you so much”

“The session came at exactly the right time and gave me just what I needed. I felt stable and in control – my stress levels reduced by  over 50%”

What is yoga therapy?

Judy says ‘your body has been with you through every experience of your life, and holds your whole history, stories and truth – it’s wiser and smarter than your mind and holds profound insights that your mind has forgotten, hasn’t pieced together yet, or chooses to ignore. Blocks and tension in the body often reflect blocks and stuck-ness in your mind which impacts on how you are with ‘life’.

We work together with tissues in your body, issues with work, or where you’re going in your life journey to provide insight and empowerment. Each person is an individual, each day is different, each session is a new experience. Judy holds a safe space for you to express whatever rises to the surface. At the end of each session, we will review and find some practical steps to put into practice to support you in your daily life.

Yoga Therapy is not about making shapes on a mat but a transformational process to move from a disturbed mind that gets in the way of living a healthy life, to a settled state of mind and holistic wellbeing. This works on many levels and is co-created with the client to suit their individual needs – this could be a physical imbalance or injury, mental conditions like anxiety or depression, emotional overwhelm and trauma, lack of energy, or spiritual disconnect.

What to expect in a 1-2-1 yoga therapy session

Although sessions are always different depending on the person and the day, we usually start with a general discussion about your needs, what you hope to receive from working together, taking into account your history and any injuries to establish appropriate practices for the present moment. We can then work in many different ways depending on what you have shared about yourself and there will be an element of your body leading what needs to happen, a focus on the breath, sensations in the body, embodied mindfulness, and talking therapy based on humanistic psychology. yoga, therapy, private, success, stress

You do not need to have any previous experience of yoga as Judy is trained to meet you where you are, to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can explore together in an enquiring way. Judy has been working in yoga therapy for the last 9 years  – she started her training with the Life Centre & the Yoga Biomedical Trust in the UK, and completed 600 hour training as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist in the US which works on Michael Lee’s principle that if you take time to listen and be present with whatever is happening in your body, it reveals a wonderful intelligence of its own, and it will give you the experience you need when you need it, enabling you to live life with more awareness of the wonderful being that you are.
